Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a disease in which the lungs become scarred, or thickened.
This makes it more difficult to breathe and cough is also a common symptom.
We have a specialist clinic in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary called the ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) clinic at which we see patients with various forms of uncommon lung disease, including IPF.
We've collected together some resources for you here and also include details about our local patient support group - below is a picture from July 2023 taken at Balgownie Bowling Club, where they meet regularly.
For more details please contact: Lorraine Strachan at grampianpfsg@gmail.com
Group meets every second month (odd months) on the first Wednesday.
Balgownie Bowling Club is in Scotstown Gardens, Bridge of Don, and the Post Code for Sat Nav is AB23 8HX.
Telephone number of the club is 01224 825789. There is a car park and wheelchair access.
